Head of ‘Regional Unit’ Reinsurance Deparment of OJSC Profile Re Igor Korneev Made a Presentation at the XII Underwriters’ Club General Meeting.
Annual Meeting of the Underwriters’ Club was held in ‘Gamma’ health center located in Olginka village of Tuapse region from 11 to 14 September, 2009.
Profile Re company at the event was represented by Igor Korneev, head of ‘Regional Unit’ reinsurance deparment and Maria Guseva, deputy chief of the ‘Central Division’ reinsurance department.
One of the highlights of the event was the discussion on changes of the reinsurance coverage principles which took place within the framework of Igor Korneev’ presentation on the topic. |

The following trends were touched upon:
- Increasing by the assignor's of his own retention;
- Selective approach to reinsurance and the transition from obligatory to optional reinsurance;
- Coverage division by its type into separate obligatory programs;
- Approaches to the calculation of losses at the conclusion of obligatory programs;
- Change in policy of settlement with the reinsurer.
As a result of the discussion participants agreed that adherence to these trends is not always effective and justified only in certain cases.
